Introducing workspace.com, a New Cloud Platform for Technology Teams

Today marked the launch of workspace.com, a platform of core services to which users can add any combination of the following applications: Requirements Management, Project Planning, Test Management, Time Management, Defect Tracking, Change Management, Document Management, and Issue Tracking. Because everything is on the same cloud platform, everything works together seamlessly.

Columbia, MD (PRWEB) September 23, 2009 -- Today marked the launch of workspace.com (http://www.workspace.com), an on-demand collaborative workspace for technology teams that provides users the freedom to create their own personalized workspace. A free version is available at workspace.com and single application workspaces start as low as $10 per month.

Customers of workspace.com can choose from any combination of the following applications ("workspace apps"); Requirements Management (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/Requirements-Management-Software.html), Project Management (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/Project-Management-Software.html), Test Management (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/tests.html), Time Management (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/timesheets.html), Defect Tracking (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/defects.html), Change Management (http://www.workspace.com/workspace/changes.html), Document Management, or Issue Tracking. All workspace apps are built to work seamlessly together no matter what combination you choose and give users the power to have all of their critical project data together in a structured format that is collaborative, traceable, and searchable.

Mark Wesker, CEO of workspace.com explains, "Everyone has a workspace, but for most it's a jumbled mess of documents, spreadsheets, emails, and single-purpose tools that don't work together. We built workspace.com to fight this problem head-on by giving users the flexibility to choose only the apps they need and to provide them on a single platform that ensures that those apps work well together no matter which combination they choose."

"We see a world where project teams work online in a collaborative environment that is personalized both for the team and the individual," said workspace.com CTO, Paul Martin. Martin added, "we've created a unique online experience where teams can choose the applications that make up their workspace, and then individuals can create their own workspaces from those chosen applications. Best of all, our project platform supplies these teams with a set of what we call Core Services that are, in a sense, the power grid for our workspace.com platform. These Core Services include customization, reporting, security, collaboration, user management, dashboards, and search. As workspace apps are plugged into the grid, they are immediately energized by these Core Services to enable a visible and transparent project workspace where teams can, in real-time, synchronize their activities, analyze project performance, and optimize results."

To minimize cost and make sure that users never pay for more than they need, workspace.com provides users several pricing options. A "Flex Plan" sets pricing for each individual workspace app at only $10 per user per month or $250 per month for unlimited users. The company is also introducing a "Team Plan" that offers all eight workspace apps for only $35 per user per month or $1,500 per month for unlimited users. There are no long-term commitments required, although discounts are available for annual subscriptions. Both the Flex and Team plans include workspace.com's Core Services for free.
