Snipi Raises Second Round of Funding: Lets Users Drag and Drop Content From Anywhere on the Web

Provider of patent-pending tools for capturing, organizing, sharing and collaborating on web content closes second round for $1.4 Million total raised, forms star Board, launches new features, and announces major retailer partnership.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 4, 2009 -- Snipi, Inc. (http://www.snipi.com), a company delivering innovative tools to allow users to collect, organize, share and collaborate on content they capture from anywhere on the web, today announced the closing of their second round of funding, bring the total raised to $1.4 million; the addition of StubHub Co-Founder, Colin Evans, to its Board of Advisors; the partnership with leading online consumer electronics retailer, B&H Photo Video; and the launch of SnipStreams - a way for users to share and collaborate on content they find most interesting.

Snipi is designed to help people browse, organize, share and discover Internet content with the simplest and smartest tools. Snipi's tools enable users to literally drag and drop content directly from any web page which will automatically save it to their personal profile. All of the content captured by the user can also be carried with them as they navigate anywhere on the web. Users can share and collaborate through "Snipstreams" or broadcast their finds to Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress, and other online destinations without ever leaving the web pages where they found the content. When users are "offline", they have access to their lists and content items on their iPhone using the free Snipi iPhone app.

With the official launch of Snipstreams (http://www.snipi.com/tour/view/streams), Snipi now allows users to collaborate on their online finds. These "streams" allow users to follow each other's collections, and also let groups join in and collaborate on streams - building the most relevant collection of content for any interest. Streams can be viewed on Snipi.com, embedded on any webpage or blog, subscribed to through RSS, or viewed through Snipi's iPhone app.

“We're excited to have the infusion of capital to continue to expand on Snipi's innovative feature set and to offer value to our partner B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com),” said Andre Golsorkhi, CEO and Founder of Snipi, Inc. “We are committed to rapid development of Snipi's service and look forward to launching even more exciting features and partnerships in the coming months."

In conjunction with this announcement, Snipi and B&H Photo Video also announced the launch of a two month sweepstakes, starting on November 2, 2009, where the companies are giving away tens of thousands of dollars away in consumer electronics gadgets, including iMacs, iPods, Sony Bravia TVs, Flip Ultra HD camcorders, and other sought after tech gear in The Ultimate Gadget Giveaway Sweepstakes (http://www.snipi.com/sweepstakes/bh-photo/).
