Linfield College's Adult Degree Program announces significant increase in the number of students enrolled in their online bachelor's degree and certificate programs.
McMinnville, Ore. (PRWEB) October 1, 2009 -- Linfield College's Adult Degree Program has seen a significant increase in the number of students enrolled in their online bachelor's degree and certificate programs. Applications from adult students before the start of fall 2009 semester were 43% greater than last year at the start of fall 2008 semester.
Linfield offers five accredited online college degree programs (http://www.linfield.edu/dce/online.html) and three accredited online certificate programs. Three additional degree and certificate programs are offered in a hybrid format, combining online courses with classroom instruction, through Linfield's McMinnville and Portland, Oregon campuses.
"What we are witnessing is a national trend," says Adult Degree Program Associate Director, Janet Gifford. "Adults are returning to college to acquire new knowledge and skills, while balancing work, family and education. The fastest growing segment of American education is continuing higher education."
Enrollment in Linfield's online Adult Degree Program classes has increased this year by 23% compared to 2008, with the greatest gains occurring in their online accounting degree (http://www.linfield.edu/dce/online-accounting.html) and the RN to BSN program.
The number of registered nurses enrolled in Linfield's online RN to BSN program has increased by over 20% from 2008 to 2009. RN's in Linfield's program carry out clinical assignments in the Northwest, throughout the USA, and internationally. Linfield's senior level clinical course, Nursing in a Global Society, has recently doubled in enrollment from one semester to the next. Linfield also offers an accelerated RN to BSN program (http://www.linfield.edu/dce/accelerated-rn-to-bsn.html) for registered nurses interested in completing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in only fifteen months.
"The Linfield Adult Degree Program is committed to educating students for the knowledge economy through providing online bachelor's degrees and certificates in high-demand fields where jobs require a bachelor's degree," says Gifford.
